Keiko Mukai
Keiko started her Reiki practice journey in August 2020. She completed her Reiki First and Second Degrees at SF Reiki Center in 2020 and 2021. She completed the Certified Reiki Practitioner Program at the beginning of 2023 with 200+ hours of practice. Currently, she has been pursuing her practice as a practitioner at SF Reiki Center since April 2023. She sees clients in person for private sessions, distance, and online.
Why Reiki? Reiki helped her to develop her spiritual growth and understand the importance of physical, emotional, and mental balance. She discovered that Reiki allowed her to be of service to others by connecting to the universal life energy. Learning under Reiki master Christopher Tellez and mentor Ann Massie has helped her develop her Reiki skills and experiences.
Originally from Japan, she has lived in Washington State, Boston, New York, Santa Barbara, and San Francisco; she graduated from Washington State University with Business Hospitality Management Major, working in a fast-paced hospitality field for over 10 years. She enjoys working with people and has a passion for natural healing, wellness, and inner harmony.
Keiko’s Reiki clients include people recovering from cancer, anxiety, high stress, and depression. She has worked with clients who have traumatic experiences and grief. In addition, she also helps clients seek inner growth, physical health, balance, and spirituality.
Frank R. Mukai
Frank’s journey with Reiki began in 2021 as a client at the SF Reiki Center. Inspired by the profound impact of the experience, he soon began formal training under Reiki Master Christopher Tellez. In 2022, he completed his First and Second Degree Reiki certifications, and in August 2023, he became a Certified Reiki Practitioner, having completed over 200 hours of practice. To honor the roots of his practice, Frank visited Mount Kurama in Kyoto, Japan, the birthplace of Reiki as taught by Dr. Mikao Usui, and paid homage at Miss Hawayo Takata’s first Reiki clinic in Hilo, Hawaii.
With life experience shaped by time spent living in Mexico, Japan, New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Santa Barbara, and San Francisco, Frank is on a journey of remembrance, returning to a life of purpose, gratitude, and service. He is committed to helping others heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves and the Earth. He continues to deepen his practice by studying with teachers, elders, and wisdom keepers across North and South America and Asia, keeping ancient healing traditions alive and relevant. In June 2024, he completed the SoundMind 12-month Facilitator Certification Program.
Frank works with clients navigating stress, anxiety, depression, fear, and life transitions, including those recovering from cancer or seeking clarity and balance. He offers private in-person, distance, and online Reiki sessions. He is also a Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) provider and fluent in Spanish.
Kiki Mukai
Kiki joined our team in December 2022. She is our beloved feline companion and an intuitive presence in our Reiki practice. Sensitive, calm, and deeply attuned to energy, Kiki often joins sessions by choice, offering her quiet support and natural healing presence. Animals are naturally receptive to Reiki, and Kiki seems to recognize when someone needs extra comfort by simply holding space with her grounded energy.
Her presence reminds us of the power of stillness, trust, and unconditional love. There’s a peaceful energy that fills the room when Kiki is around. She is a cherished member of the healing space and a beautiful example of the connection between humans, animals, and the universal life force that Reiki channels.
Whether curled up nearby or softly observing from a distance, Kiki’s role is simple but profound: she helps people feel safe, seen, and supported, just as they are.
